WHAT IS THE SHE'S THE FIRST GIRLS' EDUCATION SUMMIT?
Educate a girl, change the world. The She’s the First UNC Asheville Summit on the State of Girls’ Education is a two-day event that focuses on critically assessing and engaging the female experience through the lens of girls’ education. The purpose of the Summit is threefold: to examine the barriers that prevent girls from receiving a quality education both locally and globally, understand the benefits of educating girls and women, and discover what individuals can do to promote and support equality through education. With these three goals in mind, the weekend’s programming will feature a combination of movie screenings, panels, discussions, and interactive workshops.
